My Credentials:

I have over 25 years of experience within the field of mental health. I have been in private practice for over 20 years.

I have had a vast amount of experience and training over the years. I am continual pursuing my own growth and development in the field of psychotherapy with a focus on psychoanalytic theory and technique.

I have a wide array of experience providing psychotherapy to: children, adolescents, adults, seniors, couples, families and groups. I have had experience and training in a variety of treatment settings: inpatient psychiatric facilities, outpatient clinics, community mental health centers, group homes, a partial hospitalization program and private practice. I have had a lengthy career of treating depression and anxiety.

Throughout my training and experience, I learned to really love and enjoy working with adults. Due to this passion, I have chosen specifically to focus my practice on psychotherapy for adults.

I have found I value the ability to assist adults in being able to learn and understand their internal psychological world with the goal of decreasing mental pain and distress. I believe this allows you to begin to heal and move forward.

Life is always about change and growth. Sometimes we can get stuck and unable to psychologically move in our lives. At these times, this is where a more indepth process of psychotherapy can help you begin to make changes internally not just externally. This may help you be able to develop the ability to continue the growth process and weather the changes and challenges that inevitably occur in our lives.

If my style of work seems like it could be a good fit for you and you would be interested in meeting with me, feel free to contact me. Mary L. Hendrickson, Psy.D., LP at (952)546-0700.
